1. Who are the endorsing bodies for the NITEC in Services in Pastry & Baking, Certificate of Proficiency in Baking ?

The endorsing bodies for

(a) NITEC in Services in Pastry & Baking is by Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore
(b) Certificate of Proficiency in Baking is by Baking Industry Training College (BITC), Singapore
 
2. I have no experience in baking, which course should I take?
You may wish to enrol in our Certificate courses, as it focuses on teaching hands-on skills in baking. The programme comprises practical hands - on and reinforce learning activities, knowledge and skills.
 
3. What is the qualification needed for me to take the baking course?
Please refer to the individual course entry requirements.

4. Can I take the Diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts without going through Nitec in Pastry & Baking course as I have been working in this industry for many years? 
BITC’s Diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts practical units consolidate advanced baking skills and techniques so as to have a complete and coherent training. Unless you have worked in the Senior capacity in the baking industry with a minimum of 3 years hands-on baking experience.
 
Proof of employment letter from the employer is required.

5. How long does it take to complete the Diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts? 
The Diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts full-time duration is approximately 4 months to complete. Whereas, part-time intake is approximately about 18 Months.

6. What other bakery courses can I choose from besides Nitec programs, Certificate of Proficiency in Baking and Diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts?
